**note** this blog post is nottttt quite current**
This Friday and Saturday, will be my 3rd trip to the MQX Quilt Festival and I am FREAKING OUT, MAN.
Too much? I'm just trying to insert a little excitement- which I do have.
The first time I went I had actually submitted two quilts for the show. (I was pretty bold with confidence back then.)
After two minutes in the exhibit hall, I realized that I had LOTS to learn. I was woefully under-skilled in comparison and I was to thankful that they even hung my work. (and I desperately wanted to take it down).
I felt embarrassed.
I asked my husband to walk ahead of me a little and I stood in the stall with my quilt and fought the urge to grab it and run. Anything to get it out of sight.
But I didn't. I took a breath and tried to do that 'positive inner voice thingy.' It didn't work. ( My critical voice is a shouter. )
But I did leave it where it hung and continued on admiring the work of others...more practiced, more patient, more...everything.
They are amazing. And I continue to learn.
